VISAKHAPATNAM, INDIA: Ishan Kishan missed out on making it to India’s playing XI due to a niggle in the fourth T20I of their ongoing series against New Zealand, at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, January 28. Seamer Arshdeep Singh replaced Kishan in India’s playing XI.

The southpaw, who was called up to the Indian squad both for this series as well as the upcoming T20 World Cup, had a fairly good run in the first three matches of this series. In the first game in Nagpur, he got out for 8 but came back strongly to score a 32-ball 76 in the second.

In the third match, in Guwahati, he struck a fine 28 off just 13 deliveries before holing out to deep midwicket off leg spinner Ish Sodhi. India currently lead the five-match series 3-0, with the final game to be played in Trivandrum on Saturday, January 31.
