DELHI, INDIA: Gujarat Titans (GT) travel to the national capital to take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in their third game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) season at the Feroz Shah Kotla (Arun Jaitley Stadium) on Wednesday, April 8.

The Shubman Gill-led side have not had a good start to the season so far, losing both games they have played, to Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). They are currently 9th in the table, winless with 0 points.

In this piece, we take a look at 3 changes that GT need to make against DC to get their first win of this season:

#3 R Sai Kishore for Washington Sundar

The first change that GT need to make is by replacing Washington Sundar with his Tamil Nadu teammate R Sai Kishore. This change needs to be done more to shake things up than anything else. Sundar did not bowl against RR, and his scores of 4 and 18 with the bat hardly inspire any confidence.

Kishore, on the contrary, can be expected to deliver all his four overs and give captain Gill an extra weapon in his bowling armoury. The left-arm spinner can come in quite handy if the Kotla pitch turns out to be on the slower side.

#2 Tom Banton for Kagiso Rabada

Another big call that GT need to take is to replace Kagiso Rabada with Tom Banton. They already have three other overseas players settled in their squad – Rashid Khan, Glenn Phillips and Jos Buttler. Banton can provide GT with a good start at the top of the order if captain Gill drops down to number three.

The Englishman can also be slotted in at number three. This will lead to a deadly middle order that DC will have a hard time decoding – Banton, Buttler and Phillips at three, four and five. Banton is a hard-hitting batter who has a strike rate of 142.89 in T20s.

#1 Anuj Rawat for Rahul Tewatia

The final change that GT must make, even if with a heavy heart, is that of Rahul Tewatia for Anuj Rawat. Both are southpaws, so the distinction will wear out amongst their opponents, even if their playing styles differ somewhat. Rawat is known to be good against the new ball and can be trusted to hit it on the rise. Tewatia, on the other hand, is a pinch-hitter who can demolish bowling attacks lower down the order.

The latter is known for keeping a calm demeanour when tasked with chasing down totals. However, Rawat has played in several such close-knit situations lower down the order for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the past, and it will be no harm giving him a go, especially after Tewatia’s returns of 12 and 11 not out.
