LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND: Manchester United player Shea Lacey’s older brother, Paddy, has been charged with attempted murder. Lacey was charged alongside three others connected to the shooting of a man in Huyton, Liverpool, in November 2025. Earlier on Friday, February 20, Merseyside police confirmed that several arrest warrants were released, as per the Liverpool Echo.
According to the police, Lacey, 32, John Aaron Jones, 35, Bernard Flynn, 61 and John George Patrick Hughes, 31, have all been charged with attempted murder; conspiracy to murder; possession of a shotgun and ammunition with intent to endanger life; Section 18 GBH; and conspiracy to cause GBH.

Paddy Lacey, like his younger brother Shea, played football. He was a member of the Manchester United academy before moving on to Liverpool and Sheffield Wednesday. He has turned up for Southport, Chester and Altrincham in non-league football before appearing for Accrington Stanley in the Football League. Paddy Lacey is currently a boxer.
Paddy and Shea Lacey have another brother, Luis, who is currently on the rolls with Macclesfield in the National League North. Shea, 21, has made waves for Manchester United U21s this season, scoring 8 goals and bagging an assist in the Premier League 2.
The winger also made two appearances in the Premier League. Lacey made his debut for the Red Devils in the Premier League in their 1-2 loss to Aston Villa in December 2025. He took a red card on his FA Cup debut, a 1-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion in January earlier this year.
